The opening of the DreamHack tournament in Sevilla and the continuation of the CS_Summit means there is plenty of CS:GO opportunity to look forward to from Friday’s games. We break down a few selections to consider.
This is as tricky as they come because not much separates these two teams. North has been in solid form though, winning two of their last three matches. In 14 maps against Big, North have won eight of those, including two last month at the ESL Pro League season 10 (25-21 in Nuke and 16-14 in Train). They have enough confidence and depth in their roster as well, but in a best-of-one game, it all comes down to intensity.
Illuminar Gaming (2.21)
Illuminar are no pushovers. They are ranked four spots below Godsent, at No. 27 in the world. But they have plenty of skill and quality as is evident from their form and history. Illuminar have won their previous five matches, including victories against Virtus.pro and Ago. They have also not backed down against Godsent, winning three of six maps against them. Illuminar could just come out firing right from the outset and take the best-of-one win here.
Mousesports have been in sensational CS:GO form in recent times. So much so that they have risen up the rankings rapidly, upto No. 5 in the world now. Ropz and Frozen have been terrific players for plenty of time. Their contributions have had a significant hand in Mousesports’ inevitable rise. They have won their last five games on the bounce, including best-of-three wins against Astralis (the world’s best team), Evil Geniuses (one of the hottest CS:GO properties currently) and Fnatic. These odds are slightly misrepresentative of the risk against reward debate, so capitalise on the opportunity.
Tricked ESport (1.32)
There are tangible differences between these two teams in this encounter. Tricked have been around the professional set-up for just that much longer, which has seen them climb to No. 20 in the world. Bubzkji, Roej and Acor have all put up strong offensive runs, with averages of over 0.70 kills per round in their last three months. Tricked have won three of four maps against Gambit as well.
Tricked are also in solid form, having won three of their previous four matches, including victories against Furia (16-14 in Overpass), Cr4zy (2-0) and Forze (16-10 in Overpass)
